Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary Trek
Uganda's only white rhinos, tracked on foot

What to Expect
Southern white rhinos were hunted to local extinction in Uganda by the 1980s. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, roughly midway between Kampala and Murchison Falls, is the result of a reintroduction program that now protects a growing population. A short, guided walking trek brings you on foot within safe, careful distance of the rhinos — a straightforward and worthwhile stop for travellers heading to or from Murchison Falls, and the sanctuary's wetlands are also good for birding.
